The title of my paper is On the Significance of Drama Method in the Improvement of English Learning in Chinese Rural Junior High School. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. First of all, I really want to be a teacher, so during the four years, I have read many books about how to become a good teacher. Secondly, when I was a freshman in the summer of 2008, I was chosen as a teaching assistant of the summer camp which was organized by the New Oriental English School in Shijiazhuang. In the summer camp, I rewrote a script of an English drama to be one of the programs of the open ceremony. It was very popular among those students. They thought it was very interesting. In 2010, I was practiced as an English teacher at Chenguantun Middle School in Qinhuangdao, I found that the students have little interest towards English learning, so I hoped I could help them. So I use the Drama Method as my teaching method. Almost all of the students were highly motivated by the interesting teaching method and they have made great progress in the exam one month later. So the research proved that the Drama Method can be used as an effective teaching method. Thirdly, I found many scholars have carried out numerous studies of ambiguity, but a majority of these studies are focused on single language separately. Articles about comparison between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity are not sufficient. So it is necessary to make further study.

Next, I will present the outline of my thesis. It consists of 7 parts.

The first part gives a brief introduction to the ambiguity and structure of the thesis.

The second part is literature review, briefly introducing the development of study of ambiguity and some scholars’s main views.

The third to fifth parts focus on three types of ambiguity in English and Chinese: phonological ambiguity, lexical ambiguity, syntactic ambiguity. In every broad type, I respectively list some detailed branches and cite some vivid English and Chinese examples to explain these ambiguity phenomena. But I put more focus on the third part and point out two differences of ambiguity between English ambiguity and Chinese ambiguity.

The part six will point out positive results by using ambiguity deliberately in daily conversations, advertisements and literary works.

The last part is the conclusion.

I hope by this contrastive research, we will have a better understanding of ambiguity in English and Chinese and apply it to our life and study.

【摘 要】实施素质教育的主渠道是教学，主阵地是课堂教学。“精讲、多练、细查、常补”的教学程序包含了师生的共同活动，调动了师生两方面的积极性。教学活动是双边活动，一方面要看到教与学同时并存，缺一不可，相互制约，教学相长，教好是学好的前提，学好是教好的标志，教和学是统一的。另一方面，教和学又有区别，只能相互影响不能互相代替。在实施程序教学过程中，必须灵活而辩证地发挥这一作用。

中学英语新教材的使用，标志着我国中学英语教学开始从单纯注重语言知识的传授转向注重外语素质的培养。传统的“满堂灌”、“填鸭式”教学模式，使学生处于被动地位，教师讲得多，学生实践少，造成两极分化，使一些学生丧失了学习外语的兴趣，乃至最后放弃。即使成绩好的学生，也往往灵活运用能力、听说读写的综合能力不强。众所周知，语言是在人类社会生活中经过漫长的实践获得的，外语也不例外，它往往需经过反复的循环和大量的实践才能习得。中国学生学外语不具备耳濡目染的语言环境，只有通过大量的听、说、读、写训练，并通过多次强化和反馈来获得并巩固知识，加之外语的遗忘率很高，若不及时复习，学生就有掉队的可能，这就需要教师及时采取措施帮助学生加以巩固和补充，以增强学生学习外语的信心。实践证明，传统的教学模式已跟不上现代教育发展的步伐，我们每位教师应主动投入到教学改革的浪潮中去，以积极的态度不断探索适应新教材的教学策略。本人在教学实践中，通过不断总结和进行新旧教材的对比，摸索到了一些既符合学生学习外语的特点，又符合循序渐进原则的教学新策略——“精讲、多练、细查、常补”教学程序。按照这一程序进行教学，符合以教师为主导、学生为主体的教学原则，往往会获得事半功倍的教学效果。

一、精讲

讲，是教学的中心环节。在学生百思不解之时，在疑难问题的关键之处，教师应给予“少、精、活、透”的讲解。教师要注重讲的艺术，如有声有色的语音语调、恰如其分的动作表情等等，这样就能使学生身临其境，注意力高度集中，从而取得较好的听课效果。讲课是教学中的主要教学形式，对不同的班级、不同的学生，应采取不同的教法。

（一）讲解法

将单词、词组、句型同课文融汇在一起进行讲解，在单词中学语音，在课文中理解句子。在讲解的过程中可采取设疑与答疑的方法：教师边讲边问，学生在理解的过程中提出问题，教师对于学生已懂的知识可不讲、少讲，学生未知的知识要重点讲，讲明讲透。对课文的词组、句型、语言点要作扼要的重点讲解。

(二)设疑法

在学生预习课文的基础上设疑。疑要设在教材的重点和难点上、设在学生不易理解和易混淆的知识点上，然后以课文情节发展为主线，围绕疑问作重点讲解。在此过程中我们可以采用答疑、辩论、练习、启发的方式激发他们的思维，引导学生掌握知识。

(三)答疑法

在学生预习课文之后，教师可采用答记者问的方式，让学生提出难点，教师根据他们的难点启发式地进行少而精的讲解与归纳。经过学生的思考提出的难点，有时就是教师要讲的重点，这样老师在讲难点时，他们就感到如饥似渴，注意力集中，积极主动。通过讲解法、设疑法、答疑法，学生获得的知识印象深、记得牢，学生不仅学到了知识，而且学到了学习的方法，越学越会学，越学进步越快。在这一过程中，教师准、透、活的.讲解是十分重要的。

二、多练

练，是掌握知识、提高能力的有效途径，又是巩固知识、检查课堂效果的重要环节。外语课就是听、说、读、写的实践课，学生必须经过多次反复的实践训练才能将知识转化为能力。练的形式要多样化、层次化。练要由易到难、由简单到复杂、由低层次到高层次，注意学生个体差异性;同时还要注重外语教学的连续性、循环性和阶段性。在设计课程时，要注意练密度、宽度和深度。所谓密度，就是教师充分利用45分钟，合理分配教学内容，注意教学效果，进行密集快速的活动。所谓宽度，就是学生练的面要大，要尽可能让全体学生都要“动起来”，每节课学生的活动面一般要在80%以上。所谓深度，是指教学内容有一定的难度，要注意教学内容由浅入深、由易到难，贯彻可接受性与高难度相结合;要注意运用多种教学手段让学生动口、动手、动眼、动耳、动脑，使学生在运用英语中获得兴趣，提高能力。上课时学生积极“动”，老师善于“诱”，“诱”、“动”配合，就会形成教学高潮。

练是多层面的，是通过听、说、读、写来完成的。具体做法如下：

(一)听力训练

“听”是学习语言的基础，听得懂才能学得会课堂上用英语组织教学，教材是培养学生听、说读、写的很好材料。要使学生听得懂、听得明白听得有趣，教师每堂课必须有一个行之有效的课堂设计，教学要有知识性、科学性和趣味性。训练听力不是仅仅靠开设语音课或补充听力材料来进行我们也可从教材中发掘材料。在课文教学中，教师可启发学生用所学过的词、词组或短语来解释新词或新词组与短语，用学过的句型来套用新出现的句型并加以引申、归纳。这样，学生既训练了听力又学到了新的知识，可较好地达到温故知新的效果。

(二)口头训练

“说”是在听的基础上把所学得的知识经过自己的理解，以说的方式表达出来。这就要求学生不仅用英语来讲，而且用英语来想。为了说清楚，学生必须把所要说的内容在脑海里经过一番整理。因此，这是一个有难度的综合练习。现在使用的新教材，语言环境设计形象、生动、活泼，适合学生进行口语训练。我们可以采用值日生报告、学生问答、背诵课文、复述课文、做游戏、表演小品等多种形式来训练学生说的能力。复述课文是培养学生组织语言和连贯表达的很好训练，这项能力一开始对有的学生来说难度较大，老师可以采用问话方式，提示并鼓励他们说下去，逐渐过渡到不加提示独立复述的程度。如果在外语教学中，我们能长期坚持听说训练，就会使学生越说越流畅、越读越准确，大大提高学生口语表达能力。 (三)阅读训练

培养学生阅读能力需要扩大学生课外阅读量学生接触的文章越多，语言点重现率越高，所学的知识掌握得就越牢。在阅读中教师要指导学生掌握有效方法，要求学生掌握阅读技巧，做到快速浏览、整体把握、重点精读、理解分析、猜测词义教师应结合所学课文，补充与课文内容有关的阅读材料，以扩大学生的阅读面，拓宽学生的知识面每周可以采取限时阅读、难易结合、长短结合的方法，并给学生创造成功的机会，以充分调动学生的阅读积极性。

(四)笔头训练

写是巩固知识的重要手段之一。通过写，可检查学生掌握所学的知识的程度。大量的练习，是通过写来完成的。对于练习，提倡少而精，不提倡多而杂的“题海战术”，笔头训练题目要具有典型性、综合性和多变性。同时，可采取听写、默写、缩写、写日记等多种形式以达到练的目的。英文的写作是英语课教学的难点，必须是细水长流、积土成山。每节课，适当做些听写等笔头练习，有利于学生积累语言材料。每周布置一、两篇小作文，常练多写，迈小步、不停步，循序渐进地进行课堂训练，最终促进学生的写作水平逐步提高。

总之，练是英语教学中培养能力的重要途径。以练为主，有利于调动学生的积极性，发挥教师的主导作用，又有利于学生智力开发和综合能力的培养。

三、细查

查，就是对所讲的知识验收，是教育对象接受力的反馈。在整个教学完成后，教师应用不同的方式对学生进行检查，比如还有哪些知识没有掌握，还有哪些知识需要补充和提高，学生还存在哪些问题等等。这一步要查得细而实，从而达到查漏补缺的目的。查的方式多种多样，可以通过平时的练习、作业、单元过关、阶段测试、个别谈话来检查，也可以通过学生回答问题、复述课文、听写等查出所存在的问题，以及时更正、及时辅导。

四、常补

补是程序教学法中落实教学效果的最后阶段，是对学生已学知识的缺漏之处给予充实、完善和提高的有效措施，常查常补是防止两极分化的重要手段。补有多种形式，课上补和课后补、集中补和单个补、口头补和书面补。对于后进生，可列出常错题，限时当面做，及时面批、讲透;对于优等生为了使他们吃得饱，教师可以编一些灵活性、综合性强的试题，以弥补能力的不足。可以把作业、考试、练习中学生常犯的错误、带有普遍性的错句编成“学生错句集”发给学生改错。口头练习出差错，如回答问题、值日报告等，可当面给予纠正和补充。对学生所学知识的查漏补缺要尽量做到堂堂清、段段明、时时补。

“精讲、多练、细查、常补”是一种综合教学方法，贯穿于教学过程的始终，各环节相互渗透相辅相成，是统一的整体，但并不是每节课都必须采用所有的方法。我们可以根据教材的实际和学生的实际，将其中几种重新组合，如可用讲、练结合形式，练、查结合形式，查、补结合形式，也可以采用讲、练、查、补同时综合进行。教学中应遵循的原则是讲中有练、练中有讲、讲中有补、补中有练，灵活运用，不断创新。

初中英语异步教学的特点，是学生学习的个体化与教师指导的异步化高度有效的统一。这为语言教学提供了最优化教学方式。学习语言，必须遵循语言学习的规律——首先通过语言环境的影响(即语言的输入条件)，然后逐渐自然地形成规则，最后再创造性地输出。在这三个程序中，只有语言环境可以人为地创造、改变，而后两个方面则是自然发生的。异步教学则为遵循这个规律，有效地提高英语教学质量给予了理论指导。

在初中英语教学中，普遍存在这样一个问题，即学生在学习过程中，虽然掌握了较多的语言知识，但是交际能力却没有得到有效地培养，听、说、读、写“四会”能力较差。造成这种状况的原因是多方面的，其中一个重要的原因是传统的英语教学法与学习语言的规律相悖。本文试图结合自己的异步教学实践，探讨初中英语教学中的听说训练。

一、听说训练准备中的异步教学

1.提前进行语音教学

在中小学阶段，系统讲授音标知识有助于学生学习记忆单词。学生要记住一个单词，首先要会读。所以音标教学显得尤为重要。本人在预备教材教学时，就尝试打破教材编排顺序，先把每个模块后的音标集中教学，再在以后的单词教学中分散认读，让音标和拼读练习在单词教学中反复呈现。在学生掌握一定量的单词后，要求他们通过观察单词的发音和拼写归纳读音规则，使学生逐步形成听音拼词、见词读音的能力。

2.培养和提升学生自学的能力

教师要逐步改变每上新课之前把学习的生词一个一个写在黑板上，再逐个讲解，反复领诵的传统教法。而是让学生自学，具体办法是：学生先听课本录音磁带，自己给生词注音、拼读、记忆、模仿试读。然后老师再进行指导，个别检查学生的发音、读音，重点指导差生，对好生逐渐提出难度较大、辐射面较广的要求。这样学生学习个体化，教师指导异步化得以有效地统一，使每个学生都学有所得，逐步培养学生的自学能力，为后来逐步过渡到句型、对话、课文的自学打下基础。上述这一教学过程，开始必须专门在课堂上进行强化训练，逐步地要求学生拿到课外学习中去完成，以便有更多的课内时间来进行听说实践。

3．向学生传授听说技巧，培养良好的听说习惯

初中学生听说能力的提高，是与良好的听说习惯是分不开的。初一学生对听说英语仍然保持着浓厚的兴趣与好奇，但是听说方法不对，久而久之会使这种兴趣与好奇心随着难度的加大、词汇量的增多而丧失，最后就厌学、弃学。因此从初一第一节课开始，这就注意培养学生听说的良好心理素质。比如听的时候心要静，不要怕听不懂而过度紧张；说的时候一定不要怕羞，要大胆开口，并要求学生在说时，根据所说的内容辅以动作、表情等。并要求他们在课外尽量用学过的英语与同学、老师或家长交谈，并养成习惯，成为自动化的技能。

二、初中英语教学中听说训练的具体做法

牛津教材每个单元都包括Comic strips等九大部分。在教学中，要灵活地把它们融合在一起，使学生学得轻松有趣，享受牛津教材所带来的成功感。

1．扎扎实实过好语音关

牛津教材的词汇量多，有助于学生的语言表达。要熟练地掌握这些单词，则一定要让学生系统地掌握好单词的读音规则与拼读技巧。这就要求在教学中，首先要强化语音训练，促使他们尽快突破语音关，为以后的英语单词的学习扫清障碍。具体做法：用8—10课时时间，从26个字母着手，让学生彻底分清元音字母与辅音字母，元音音素与辅音音素的划分；分清音节的概念，掌握音节的拼读，从而扎扎实实地培养起学生自学单词的能力，树立学好英语的信心。

2．生词教学词组化，语句化

人们在表达时，常常用到的并不是单词，而是固定搭配和句子。在教学时，把单词词组化、短语固定化、句型具体化，使学生既学会了单词，又掌握了语言的运用能力，扩大了词的外延，提高词的使用频率，对听说教学很有帮助。

3．结合实际，注重听说和探究能力

牛津教材要求教师在备课时要善于结合教学实际的需要，灵活地、创造性地使用教材，使之为教学服务。以8AUnit1为例，笔者把第一课与第三课融为一体进行教学，先让学生看着卡通画带着下列问题去听Eddie和H obo之间的对话(练习听的能力)。 What are they talking about?Who is hungry? Can he eat some food?

通过这此问题的回答，从而引入本单元的学习课题： Friends。Guess： Can Eddie give Hobo some pizza? Why? Teacher： Eddie and Hobo are friends, they can share lots of things, such as the food. I believe everyone here has some friends, what do you think of your friends?

因为Friends是我们身边的人，Friends所经历的事就是我们身边的事，所以学生听和说的欲望都非常强烈，问答完毕之后，教师把表达Friends的要点板书呈现(学key words)，然后再让学生把这此散珠穿成线，练习说的能力。这种通过“听——说——学——说”的反馈过程是练习听说的最有效的方法之一，这种方法符合初中学生的认知水平，能充分激发学生的学习兴趣和学习动机。当听说训练过后，让学生再去探究。

重视“Reading”教学。牛津教材中每单元的Reading都有承前启后的作用，也是一单元的核心所在。通过Reading，教会学生如何分析文章，如何写作，如何谈论话题，表达自己的观点。笔者采用的方法是“听——读——说——写”。先让学生带着较简单的问题，逐段去听，掌握每段的大意(培养听力)；再让学生带着较难的问题去读(培养分析句子的能力)；读过后，用keywords把全文简述出来(培养说的能力)；最后落实到笔头上(培养对词法，句法的掌握能力)。学生学会了分析文章，激发出学生的写作兴趣，同时也巩固所学的语言点。

建议：教师可以在“Reading”教学完成后，从网上或报刊上收集一些符合学生口味或迎合时代潮流的文章，让他们课后阅读，扩大知识面，培养阅读能力和阅读兴趣。

4．重视语法教学

牛津教材重视听说读写的同时，也不轻视语法教学。每单元都安排了课时进行语法训练，它以“举例——归纳——操练”这三个步骤，呈现给学生，条理清晰，并且配有图片，形象生动，学来有趣。笔者在教学时采取“学生观察——教师指导——学生归纳——师生一起总结——训练巩固(举一反三)”这样的步骤进行教学，收益菲浅。学生觉得英语语法不难学，作业的错误率也很低。

教材越改越新，越改越实用，但要求也越来越高。只有不断学习、更新观念、提高教学能力，才能在教学过程中灵活地、有创造性地使用好教材。

三、多为初中学生创造练习听说的机会

学生除在课堂上尽量给学生创造语言实际的环境外，本人还充分利用课前和课外可能的时间，让学生练习听说。

1.进行课前三分钟“Free talk”

上课开始的三分钟“Free talk”，是在师生之间共同进行的，所谈内容一般是前一课的知识，或者也有一些学生感兴趣的时事新闻，逐步过渡到由学生说说一句话新闻，讲故事或说笑话，然后老师再根据所讲的内容提几个主要问题由其他学生回答，这样听和说得都到了训练。

2.创设课外活动

初中英语课外活动，是整个英语教学过程的一个有机组成部分。它和课堂教学是紧密相连，是使学生掌握外语所不可缺少的辅助形式。它不但能巩固加深、扩大课堂上学的知识，而且有助于培养学生学习英语的.兴趣。

一、初中英语教学中的听说训练现状

虽然初中英语教学大纲中一再强调“听说”的重要性，但在实际教学中还是存在着各种各样的弊端，如“哑巴英语”现象严重、诸多学校更注重英语词汇、语法等知识的教育而忽略了对学生英语听力和口语的进一步培养，等等。受到我国传统教育观念和考试形式的影响，不少教师在进行英语教学时偏重与对学生应试能力的培养而轻视对其听说能力的提高，这无疑偏移了语言学习的目的，以至于学生往往能够在考试中取得高分，但在生活中很难使用英语流畅交流，久而久之，有的学生甚至形成了厌学的心理，这种情况不容乐观。

(一)创造良好的英语学习氛围

提高初中英语教学中的听说训练，首先要创造良好的英语学习氛围，坚持“Speak English every day",培养学生对英语的自然运用，使其养成对英语的使用习惯。教师应保证课堂教学英语化，即在英语课堂上师生尽量完全使用英语，从而潜移默化地培养学生的英语语感，并根据具体教学情况增加难度，例如上课问好时，可以从一开始的“Goodmorning, students"，转变为提问式的“How are you guys re-cently?”以提高师生互动。
