《Journal of Bionic Engineering》（季刊）（《仿生工程学报》）创刊于2004年，是中华人民共和国教育部主管、吉林大学主办的以工程仿生学科为特色的国际性英文学术期刊，是国际仿生工程领域唯一的学术类英文专业期刊。《Journal of Bionic Engineering》办刊宗旨：报道国内外工程仿生学科重要的、优秀的、创新性的研究成果，创刊仅一年,就被AJ和CSA中的多种数据库收录。为该领域及相关领域的研究人员提供发表新信息的园地和交流学术思想的论坛，为促进工程仿生研究成果转化为生产力、加速这一新兴、交叉、边缘学科实现跨越式、突破性的发展服务。《Journal of Bionic Engineering》主要报道涉及：仿生科学与工程所有方面的原始论文和综述。包括动植物仿生工程方面的基础研究（动物的运动和行为，植物和天然材料的结构、成分、形态和物理特性）以及这些基础研究在工程、技术和设计方面的应用。

《Journal of Bionic Engineering》的宗旨是报道国内外工程仿生学的重要、卓越和创新研究成果。自一年前成立以来，它已被纳入美国犹太人协会和美国基督教学生协会的各种数据库。它为该领域及相关领域的研究人员提供了一个发表新信息和交流学术思想的论坛，有助于促进工程仿生研究成果向生产力的转化，加速这一新兴、交叉和边缘学科的跨越和突破性发展。

《Journal of Bionic Engineering》的主要报告涵盖了仿生科学和工程的所有方面的原始论文和评论。包括动物和植物仿生工程的基础研究(动物运动和行为、结构、组成、植物和自然材料的形态和物理特性)以及这些基础研究在工程、技术和设计中的应用。
